My Job

This is my job! Three full time blessings! There are times in my day when I forget that it is a privilege to be home with these little ones. There are times when stress is high and I forget that this too is only a season. A season of life that many tell me will go so fast, and that I will miss so much. And I know they are right and believe them and want to cherish even the difficult times. This is my life and these are my three little blessings the Lord has given to Tu and I. When days are long and stress is high and everyone needs to go potty at once (with one bathroom :) It is moments like these that I want to remember that it is a JOY and a blessing to be able to have such a job as this! Thank you Jesus for even when it's difficult you bring correct perspective of how blessed I am to be a Mommy. Help me keep your perspective Lord!
Here is our little Jaylin at 7 weeks

Our little Sis (Aaliyah "Miss Personality) at 23 months

And our little man at 3 1/2 super stud!

Thanks for letting me share my little blessings with you all! Pray for peace and proper perspective! We have so much to be thankful for! God is sooooooo GOOD!

She is a blessed addition and we are all so thankful for her. Tre and Aaliyah love her and get so excited when she wakes up, when they get to hold her, or when she smiles. It's fun to watch them all interact. Thank you Jesus for these children you have entrusted to us! And there is more to smile about below...

Job Chapter vs 1-8

So as I mentioned in a earlier post I am reading through the Bible one book at a time one chapter at time! Currently I just finished Esther, which I will be posting about soon. However today I read the first chapter of Job. Job chapter 1 is filled with so many "gold nuggets" for us to glean from! I would like to point out a few the Lord showed me today. Again, read the whole chapter because there is power in knowing the verses in context.
In the very 1st verse it describes Job as being a man who was BLAMELESS, UPRIGHT, a Man who FEARED GOD and SHUNNED EVIL! WOW! Do people see this in me? Most importantly does the Lord see these qualities in me? What a stand for Righteousness Job had! What a passion for the Lord he must have portrayed! Can you imagine being known, not by the job position you hold, who your married to, what car you drive, or what house you live in, but known as a person who was BLAMELESS, UPRIGHT, a person who FEARED the LORD, and SHUNNED EVIL.
What a challenge! Can I say that these qualities are alive in me? Job had these qualities because he personally knew the Lord! He spent time with Him! He completly shunned evil (had nothing to do with it)! So if I desire these qualities to be alive in me then I must do the same! I must SHUN evil and FEAR the LORD and desire to KNOW HIM more and more!
In verse 8 the Lord points out these qualities of Job's blamelessness and his fear of the Lord and that there is no other like him on all the earth. He says, " Have you considered my servant Job..." WOW! Can God say the same of me? Have you considered my servant Jewels (place your name) she is blameless, upright, and fears the Me ( the Lord) and there is non like her in all the earth. WOW! That is my prayer today! Lord help me to become a blameless, upright, woman who shuns evil and fears YOU Lord! That is my desire! But that is many of our desires, what are we doing to make it a reality! The first thing that comes to my mind is that I (we) need to....
Pray...Pray for the Lord to fill us with His Holy Spirit, love, mind, actions, views etc. and rid us of all evil!
READ....Read the Bible more and more this is how we get to know the Lord!
Memorize.... THere is power in the memory of scripture! In Psalms 119:11 it says, " I have hidden Your word in my heart that I may not sin against thee." We must have scripture to combat the lies and wickedness of satan.
Practice....put the things the Lord is teaching us to practice. If he teaches me in my devotion to hold my tongue and later in the day I am in a conversation and about to say something that is unedifying and I get a check in my spirit (second thought), or hear that still small voice of the Lord urging me NOT to say it. It is then that I have the opportunity to exercise and practice what He is teaching me that will build the character that He desires!
What a thought... Can the Lord say of me, " Have you considered my righteous, upright servant who fears ME and shuns evil"

Scappin Again!

So I have been scrappin again! Personalscrapper.com is hosting the Croptoberfest! Every year during the month of October Personal Scapper has an online crop called Croptoberfest. It is a challenge a day crop with the goal to create 31 layouts. THis was one of teh first online crops I ever did, and I look forward to it each year. There is something about scrapping in the fall that I just love! Maybe it's the cooler weather, or the hot "decaf" drinks, or football season, the change in seasons, or maybe a little bit of all of these that make me love scrappin during this time! Well here are the layouts I completed so far. I have only done 5 out of 10 days, but hey with a newborn I am glad I got any scrapping done at all!
Also Erica, the owner, is profiling all the message board members on the Personal Scrapper blog this month. So sign up for the message boards so can play along too. You don't have to subscribe to the kits to be on the board, but I am sure you'll want to. Great products for great prices!

Here are a few pics from our night. And a few pics from Jaylin's 5th week of life. She is holding her head up real good now, and loves all the attention from big brother and big Sis. So fun!

Are you a slave?

Are you a Slave? This is a very odd question to ask ourselves in the modern day world we live in. Many of us would answer NO right away. However, this morning while reading my Bible I was challenged by the Lord with this question. Read Romans chapter 6! Here are the verses I am focusing on, but the whole chapter is amazing and powerful!
Romans 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
15What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God iseternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
In verses 11-14 We are instructed by the Lord to be dead to sin (not have any part of it). To be dead is to have no ability to contribute, function, use, or live for. To rid ourselves of every sin and keep working to get all sin out! This includes all sin from idolatry, adultery, murder, pornography to lying (even a 1/2 truth or exaggeration is a lie), worry, anger, bitterness, jealousy, pride, etc. That is a very clear instruction... have NO part of sin and let it have no part of us! I love the imagery the Lord gives us in verse 12-13 about not being instruments of unrighteousness, but being instruments of righteousness! Be used for Righteousness! The Victory and ability He gives us in verse 14 when he tells us that "Sin shall have NO dominion over us!!!
in verses 15-23 the challenge and answer to the question is provided. vs. 15-17 tells us not to sin that grace my abound, but to live in the VICTORY that Christ gave us through His death on the cross! We no longer (vs. 17) are slaves to sin! Praise the LORD! vs. 18 tells us that we have been set FREE and are now a slave of RIGHTEOUSNESS! In vs 19-21 we get a quick look at the destruction and death of sin and how it enslaved us, but that we do not live under that because of Christ we can live in victory! Verse 22-23 We see the promise of a life set free from sin and committed to Christ. We see that sin only offers death and a empty, barren soul, but that God offers the gift of JESUS who gives us the ability to walk in freedom, filled will joy, overflowing with growth, and ultimately eternal life!
So, no I am (YOU are) NOT and do NOT have to be a slave a slave to sin! However, I desire to be a slave to JESUS and to RIGHTEOUSNESS; and proud to be! No matter how obvious or hidden the sin we can rid ourselves of the bondage of sin through the power of Christ! We are set free!
So this morning my prayer is that I would be a slave to JESUS and a slave of RIGHTEOUSNESS! My desire is to be patient, to react in love and not out of anger or stress, and to allow the law of kindness to be upon my mouth (Proverbs 31:26); I want to be a slave to these righteous characters this week. I want to be dead to worry, stress, anger, and unedifying speech! I am choosing to claim my victory in JESUS! What a encouraging word from the LORD! Thank you JESUS!
Blessing

Scrappin & A New Blog; Check it out!

Here are two layouts I did for the Crop last month at Personalscraper.com. They just started a Cropober Feast Crop this week that will give a challenge a day for the whole month of October! Come check it out!
Also read below about my new blog! So I decided after some prompting from my mom and some others to start a blog for mommies. I talked with one of my close friend Tanya and she is going to help me with posting craft/ideas for our kids. I will also post things the Lord teaches me as a mommy and wife. In addition to any recipes and other fun or random things that I may come across.
Mostly this is to take time to enjoy the little moments with kids and truly embrace the call God has on us as wives and mommies! Not letting the world and all the demands of it weigh us down and rob us of our joy and memories with our family. So if your interested check it out here!

The Call

So this is a little spot that I can record and share the things the Lord shows me through is Word (the Bible) and His people! I believe He has called me to start writing them down/recording them.
The Lord has taught me through my life that reading His Words (the Bible) daily (often referred to as a devotion time) is absolutely vital for my hope, growth, and strength and my a relationship with HIM. Although there are days when I fail to spend time in reading the Bible It is my desire and goal to be in the WORD daily! When I am not; I can tell a difference! It's the same feeling as a good workout in the morning; it just set's the tone for your day! Spending time with JESUS is a wonderful way to start the day and without that time with the Father it effects all of me and my day.
I say this to encourage anyone who may read this that time in the BIBLE getting to know JESUS daily is vital for our spiritual growth and deepening our relationship with Him!
For those who may not know where to start here are a few ideas that I have used and continue to use. But no matter where you start reading always take a few minutes before to PRAY and ask the Lord, "Father please speak to me through your Word today." And don't be surprised when you get a word form the LORD! He is faithful to speak to us!
Here are some ideas:
*Start with the book of PROVERBS: there are 31 chapters in Proverbs (one for each day of the month!) Taking the time to read one chapter a day will bring so much joy, peace, and wisdom into your life.
** Start with a book of the Bible: example: Start with John read one chapter a day and again ask the Lord to speak to you. When you are finished with John you can choose another book of the Bible.
***Read through the entire Bible one chapter at a time: This is currently what I am doing in my devotion time with JESUS. However, I have chosen to start in Genesis (old testament) and read one chapter of the old testament and one chapter of the new testament starting with Matthew. I have worked my way through books reading just two chapters a day (one from old and one from new) and it has been amazing the things the Lord has revealed to me about myself and about HIM! He is so faithful to build a relationship with me/us! It's truly awesome!
So take the time to set aside a few minutes to spend with JESUS! You won't regret it!
~Be blessed and encouraged~
