Busy Busy Busy

Hey all! It's been busy around here lately. I have been meaning to update, but have not had the time. Well here is my attempt to update for now.
Here is my layout for practical scrapper this week. The challenge this week is "Rub-ons." This is actually part of a calendar I am doing for Sis. It's almost done now that she's over a year old and number three is on the way. Oh, well at least it's done before the next baby comes :)
On a personal note our family has been pretty busy. We have had family visit, church, bible studies twice a week to attend and host, youth to mentor twice a month, school of ministry we are both attending on Tuesdays, papers to write, books to read, and Tu has officially started his doctorate program. We have also had events and look forward to this next weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday, Easter and JESUS RESURRECTION, and Tre's birthday! It's been a full load around here lately, but we are blessed to be able to do it. God is good and continues to sustain us!
The kids are doing great, although they did get a little cold this week. We will be having an easter egg hunt tomorrow and I will try to post some pics before this weekend, but no promises :) lol! We are excited, well I am excited, that Sis' hair is now long enough to put up. Here is my recent favorite style :)
As for the pregnancy... We only have a week and half until we can find out if this little one is a boy or girl. Here is my 4 month picture, now that I am almost 5 months. Oh well, I will try to take a more recent one soon. I am trying to eat healthier for the babies sake so if you have any good healthy snacks, lunch, or dinner ideas leave me a comment with them :) Thanks!
Blessings to you all!

Practical Scrapper: Use your Stash

Practical Scrapper Challenge this week! Come check it out!
Okay this layout, and everything on it is over a year old! This is my youngest brother Daniel. He is committed, determined, and a little stud at all he does, but the best part about this young man (20) is that he loves JESUS with his whole heart and is determined and committed to following HIM! I pray that our kids have a heart for the Lord like he does! It's beautiful! Much more beautiful then any picture could capture!

Card Connection

~~~~
Hey Ya'll! I wanted to share two cards with you that I created lately for two special people in my life. I love cards and the way they connect us to others! One of these was created for What's up Wednesdays at the Everyday Scrapper, and the other was created for The Scrapbook Getaway. However, I wanted to point out some fun techniques in both of the cards...
~~~~
My technique time is focused on ribbon used today! First, I love using ribbon and thinking of new and creative ways for all the fun ribbon in my stash. For this card I used two pieces of pink ribbon to make the butterfly's antennas. I then used the polka dot strip of ribbon as the body of the butterfly.
In this card was fun to make! I give more details on The Everyday Scrapper too. My focus for the techniques was sewing and using the soccer ball in place of the letter O. I love to substitute an object for a letter in a word on a layout or card! It brings an added embellishment to the piece!

Girls Weekend & Scrappin

Happy Monday! Thank you Lord for another day to live!!!
Okay so I have some layouts to share and some fun facts from my weekend!
~~~~
~So here are a few layout I did for this week. Two of them were created from The SCRAPBOOK GET AWAY kit. I had so much fun working with this wonderful kit! Come check out the other DT creations!~
~~~~
This first layout is my son at a few weeks old! I just loved looking at him and holdin him! What a blessing God has given to us in having children!
~~~~
This layout I created of my 10 year high school reunion. I was 5 months pregnant with our daughter and didn't want to go, but I did and it was fun to see old friends. I wanted to do one page with pics from the night. Here is the final project. I also used white pen and did some journaling on the pictures and the chipboard letters. The idea was inspired by the pen challenge at practical scrapper!
~~~~
This particular layout were created for Practical Scrappers "White/Pen" Challenge this week! I used my white pen to outline for effect. Come check out all the beautiful projects the DT did! They are amazing!
~~~~
So this weekend my wonderful husband allowed me to meet up with my dear friend Sara and spend some "girl time" together! It was such a blessing to just spend time hangin together, fellowshipin, laughin, and enjoyin the friendship the Lord has given us. We have been friends since high school and I am so thankful to the Lord for a friend who loves Him and truly sharpens me! Just like the Lord tells us in Proverbs 17 & 27 ....
~~~~
As Iron sharpens iron so a man (woman) sharpens their friend!
~~~~
Faithful are the wounds of a friend....
~~~~
Friendship is about having fun, loving, laughing, supporting, but also being real, and being willing to sharpen each other. Even when it might not be a popular thing to say or do, but the thing the friend needs to hear! True "Godly" friends speak the truth into your life and encourage you in you relationship with the Lord and in life!
~~~~
Sara is truly a "Godly friend" and I am so blessed to have her!
We has so much fun this weekend....
going to Disney (thanks Uncle John and Aunt Delane)
relaxin at our hotel
eating good food
getting make overs
dyin hair
Here are a few pics from our weekend...
Thanks Tu for watching the kids and allowing me to get out and spend some girl time!
I Love you!
Thanks to all who stop by! Blessings!
Baby 3 & 3 Months!
Okay so I have not posted much about my pregnancy. I have just been so busy with life and everything else I have forgotten to post. So here is a pic for my 3 month shot. I will be 4 months next week and will have to take another shot. I am feeling better praise the LORD, and looking forward to seeing our little one at the 5 month ultrasound :) Oh, can't wait~!
I also wanted to share something the Lord has shown me lately. I have always prayed for each baby that the Lord would be with every detail and protecting the baby. I have also prayed for healthy babies and for smooth deliveries. God has been so faithful, and I thank Him for the answered prayer for Tre and Aaliyah. During one of my times of prayer and then also looking over some baby info online the Lord showed me that I could use the weekly emails that I signed up for from Baby Center that update me on what the baby is developing how it is progressing and I can pray accordingly.
For example: On week 14 the baby was developing it's reflexes. So then I could be praying specifically for the Lord to be with that area of development. Of course I will continue to pray for the baby to Love the Lord and be a pure child of His, but I loved being able to pray for the specific development as well! God is so good and so wise! Thank you Lord for speaking this wisdom into my life!
Okay, okay, so here is the pic. Have a blessed weekend!
Scrappy Update & a blessing!
Hey All! Well much to show today! I have had a busy week filled with many blessings, and I am finally getting to post! Yeah! My parents and little bro Danny came to visit Monday and Tuesday! It was great to have them! The kids had a blast hangin with them!
Okay so here are a few things from this week in my scrappy life! I have a blessing to share at the bottom of the post too! :) First, my What's up Wednesday altered "Mama's Treat" Jar for the Everyday Scrapper! More details on the Everyday Scrapper site.
Here is my layout for the "ink" challenge" at Practical Scrapper! I used my kit from
The Scrapbook Get Away and inked the edges and part of my title!
One of my blessings came this week in an email! Some of you may recognize this altered Canvas that I made for my cousins birthday. I also posted it on the Everyday Scrapper October 28, 09. I am honored and blessed to say that this was published in Scrapstreet Magazine this week! I am so blessed!
I pray you are all having a blessed week!
Love in Jesus,
~Jewels~
