A single rose started our evening December 12, 2003 as Tu surprised me and took me blind folded to multiple stops, one of them being the CheeseCake Factory (where he asked me to be his girlfriend), it was there that he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wifie! The night was amazing and was followed with seeing Christmas lights, dancing, and a candle lit toast with sparkling sider of course :) and hours of talking and calling our family and friends to share the exciting news. It was truly a night we reflect on all of the time!
Not long after that I returned home to plan the wedding and was making many arrangements. Through some unfortunate circumstances I had lost my ring. I was devastated and still get sick to my tummy when I think about it. I called Tu hysterical. He was so gracious and understanding. I will never forget what he told me. He said, "We have each other, and that ring served it's purpose." Although so sweet it was heart breaking and embarrassing for me. I only shared it with a few people until the Lord showed me that it wasn't about the ring. His word says LOVE never fails, not rings! :)
Well, I have had a ring that was not real for 5 years and it really has not been any big deal, but July 10th 2009 on our 5th year anniversary my wonderful and gracious husband recreated our proposal and bought me a new ring! Not to mention he found a ring that was almost identical to the one he got me the first time. What a blessing he is, and I thank the Lord for all He taught us through this! LOVE (centered in CHRIST) never fails. Material things don't matter; I would rather have LOVE! Well, after years of learning and growing the LORD blessed me with a new ring through a husband that is so gracious, loving, and kind! Thank you Tu for a wonderful night of recreating our proposal! It was a night to remember!
Oh, and it was totally a GOD thing because I was planning on getting Tu a new band and engraving our wedding date and "LOVE NEVER FAILS" on the inside... so it worked out perfect! What a blessing the evening was!
The last picture is a collection of the roses I received including the yellow ones left on our door step by my parents (thanks so much Dad and Mom). Also there are two frames in the pictures, one I made Tu when we first started dating and the second was his "wood gift" the traditional 5 year gift. His wood gift to me was my ring box! :) WOW! A truly amazing night!
